Ontario County Public Health is concerned about you and your family's health. We are committed to providing programs, services, and education that help families maintain a healthy lifestyle.
Did you know that Ontario County Public Health has a free program that provides health information to families within the comfort of their home? Home nursing education visits are available to every resident of the county if children are living in the home or if a woman is pregnant. These health education visits are tailored to meet the needs and desires of each family. Topics may include:
- Pregnancy Education
- Breastfeeding Education
- Healthy Lifestyle Information
- Parenting
- Newborn Care
- Safety and Injury Prevention
- Nutrition
- Prevention of Sexually Transmitted Diseases
- Lead Poisoning Prevention
- Childhood Immunizations
Public Health Nurses also assist families with finding resources within their community. Nurses can help families find a primary care doctor or a breast-feeding consultant. They can help families locate area parenting classes or provide information on how to apply for health insurance. Ontario County is very fortunate to have many resources.
